Hi, I’m Crissy, a 29-year-old wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer. I live in a small city called Chillicothe in Southern Ohio. While I maintain an active web presence for my business, I felt the urge, once again, to have a personal space to document my life. The result? I Heart My Blog.

I live with my fiancé Zach, our two dogs (Rollo and Sasha), and two cats (Mewson and June). We literally have animals bouncing off the walls of our home. We are expecting our first child, a little boy,  in August.

When I created my first web site at age fifteen, which I cringe to admit was almost 14 years ago, I never could have imagined that the internet, and this particular form of self-documentation, would play such a major role in my life. I have written about high school, college, relationships, marriage, divorce, career changes, finding real love, and more.

I’ve been told that I am far too forthcoming, and it’s true, I have the urge to write and be read. Maybe that’s why I ended up with a degree in English Literature? In college I faced a fork in the road, with study in English down one path, and study in visual arts down the other. I chose the literary route, and make my living taking pictures. Go figure.

I lead a pretty simple (I substitute simple for boring) life. While I have moments of bliss, and moments of chaos, it’s the collection of seconds in between that together tell the story of my life. I transform these experiences into words and pictures–this is an exercise in self-construction.
