Proud to be an Ohioan

November 5, 2008

in Life, Politics

I just found out moments ago that Barack Obama won the state of Ohio in this 2008 presidential election. Let me just be the first today that I am very proud to be from Ohio today. It feels so awesome to have voted and to know that I contributed to something so big and so important.

Congratulations, Crissy!
Congratulations, America!

My country has been apprehensive about America for the last few years, and it has been a very tough decade to deal with American politics, even as an observer. My countrymen have been continuously frustrated and sometimes angry with Bush’s politics.

I tell you, for the first time in so many years, people like me are proud of your nation. For the first time in many years, we can look at America again saying “There, possibilities are endless.” We can say, “There’s a nation that we can look up to.”

Thank you America for showing that change IS possible.
